| production method | There are two main industrial processes: 1. The Grignard method uses chlorobutane or bromobutane as a starting material to produce tetrabutyltin by Grignard reaction, which is then reacted with tin tetrachloride to form dibutyltin dichloride. Dibutyltin dichloride was treated with caustic soda to obtain dibutyltin oxide. The steps of Grignard method are complicated, but the side reaction is less and the purity of the product is high. 2. The direct method includes the iodoalkane method, the bromoalkane method and the chloroalkane method, among which the iodoalkane method is most commonly used, and the direct method has a simple process, but many side reactions, poor product quality and relatively expensive iodine consumption. |
